Nutrition - Post training Afternoon snack

I am not playing at the moment, so am getting worked like the proverbial pit pony.This means I really need to stay onto of my food, which is very hard at the best of times.

Having just finished a horrible boxing session at Nz Fight and Fitness, which culminated in 10, 3min rounds on the heavy bag. No fun for anyone. I need to get some food on board a.s.a.p.

A little snack combination I like to go for is the following;

  •  A MaxiMuscle Recovermax shake with some added BCAA's, as well as another couple of large glasses of water. Rehydration is the key.
  • Some cold cuts- shaved ham, beef or chicken. A fist full of these is a good measure. If I don’t have this in the house then, i'll cook up a couple of chicken breasts, with something like a lemon and honey sauce

Really simple to do.
  1. - Chop one whole onion- red or normal doesn’t matter.
  2. -Chop the chicken breast into small chunks and put in a bowl.
  3. - Squeeze 2 lemons over the top of the chicken, and then add 2 tablespoons of honey. Manuka, if you are extra keen.
  4. - Heat a pan on a medium heat, use some coconut oil in the pan, and then throw in the onions. Wait till they start to sweat, and add the chicken.
  5. -Cook the chicken all the way through, and serve on a green salad or on its own.

  • Some cottage cheese with Rice crackers or cakes.
  • A fist full of Mixed Nuts.
  • Tin of Tuna
  • Some salad
  • One banana.
Choose all, or a few bits from the list. Also add what you like.

Yummy , I am off to smash that in now.
