I am getting some questions about certain things on my blogs. So each week i'll answer them on here for you
1) I have been asked what the Greens Supplement is, that Matt Lovell and I use in our Pro’s protein Shake Video ?
Answer is it’s a powdered green vegetable and grass supplement, that is something like Vital Greens. Have a look on google for examples.The best thing is to shop around and have a look what suits you best. However nothing is better than the real thing, so try and buy fresh super foods to add to your shake like dark green vegetables such as spinach, romaine lettuce, black kale, parsley, celery, arugula, and so on.
2) If I am a young kid say 14 am I able to do your weight programs?
-I would suggest that anyone just starting out, be very careful and not to rush into weights. It’s important that you get someone to show you the right things to do from the very start. I am a big believer that you should start with a lot of body weight work, to build a good foundation, before you rush in actual weight lifting. Start simple with things, like press-ups, body weight squats, pull-ups etc. Then when you build some muscle you can upgrade to actual weights.
3) What things can I do to help recovery?
- There is no perfect answer to this, but the best thing is to make sure you eat really well, pre and post training. In the 30mins after you session get some fuel into your body, like protein or a supplement shake. Try to get as much sleep as you can, and if possible take and afternoon nap. You can do things like ice baths or contrast baths (hot and Cold) after heavy contacts sessions, and put on compression garments. There is some research out that suggests Ice baths after leg weights is not good and doesn't promote growth. However do what works for you, that the key to everything. For recovery every little helps.
